    I Love Baltimore Personal Tours

Tourism is my passion. My name is Ira Cunningham. I was born and raised in my beloved city Baltimore. I grew up in east Baltimore, raised a family in west Baltimore and have families through out the city. My vision for this Baltimore tourism venture is to offer our guests a chance to visit the culture of Baltimore and see our Arts Community, with its world art museums and local art. I want our visitors to see some of our beautiful churches, with America’s first cathedral, “The Baltimore Basilica”. I will be taking our guests through our history rich neighborhoods, which make us who we are.

The Babe Ruth Birthplace presents the life and times of George Herman “Babe” Ruth, Baltimore’s native son who became America’s first sports celebrity and international icon. Long before the “House that Ruth Built” existed there was a “House that Built Ruth”. The historic house was built to look like it did on February 6, 1895 while the rest of the adjoining buildings feature exhibits about the Babe’s life.

The National Great Blacks in Wax Museum

    Then and Now

The National Great Blacks in Wax Museum is among the nations most dynamic cultural and educational institutions. Because it is a wax museum committed solely to the study and preservation of African American history, it is also among the most unique. Primarily, the presentation of life-sized, life-like wax figures highlighting historical and contemporary personalities of African ancestry defines it's uniqueness.

    Where We Were

This unique museum, thie first o e of wax in Baltimore, Maryland and the first wax museum of African American history in the nations, is the brainchild of Drs. Elmer and Joanne Martin. They established the museum in 1983 with several objectives in mind: To stimulate and interest in African American History by revealing the little-known, often neglected facts of history.
